Chapter Kings Cross, London
Since the beginning of 2015 we have been involved in Whitbread's Treasure Hunt scheme, were they look at utilising back of house space more productively by converting the existing room or space into a hotel bedroom.

From November 2017 for 10 weeks we delivered a project to create 3 extra bed rooms and created a new team room in the basement area. In phase 1 we created a standard bedroom out of a linen room in the newer annex and created the team room. This involved stripping out the small staff kitchen, forming the bathroom, fitting out the bathroom, fitting air conditioning, moving the electrical distribution box and relocating to the corridor, rewiring and fitting out as per the electrical specification, decoration, flooring and fitting out with furniture. The team room was located in the older part of the building and raised some challenges to get up to specification with the floor requiring to be renewed, re boarding the ceiling, heating and electrics installed.

Phase 2 was more challenging as we had to take down a structural wall and move it to obtain the correct dimensions for a Universal Access (UA) room. To achieve this a steel beam was fitted and the doorways had to be moved and lintels installed above them. The windows were also replaced with made to measure ones and installed. The UA room had a wet room formed and fitted out and the next door room had a shower room fitted out. All fitted out as above in a live hotel environment with the minimum of fuss.
